A Veritable Shrine for the World’s Photo Enthusiasts

Founded after World War II by four acknowledged masters — Henri Cartier-Bresson, David (Chim) Seymour, Robert Capa and George Rodger — the Magnum cooperative has been at the forefront of photojournalism, and photography itself, ever since. We go behind the steel door at its discrete Paris address for an intimate tour of the agency’s past and present. The agency remains the premier choice for assignments from the best magazines and newspapers in the world, and today’s photographers pursue their craft with the same dedication and imagination demonstrated by the founders. The three-story, open-plan office is centered on a translucent spiral staircase, from which you see photo editors and photographers at work. With Magnum Photos staff members by your side, you’ll learn about the agency’s past and how it works today. You’ll visit the agency’s photo galleries, take a sneak peek at the “Photographer’s Room” and enter the solemn cold-storage facility for a rare chance to see original prints and negatives from the files of the agency’s founders and other luminaries.

  • Private experience limited to 6 guests
